About Deskomvis

Deskomvis: Jurnal Ilmiah Desain Komunikasi Visual, Seni Rupa dan Media is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal published by the Asosiasi Program Studi Desain Komunikasi Visual Indonesia (Asprodi DKV). The journal publishes original research that advances knowledge, critical inquiry, and research-based practice in Visual Communication Design, Visual Arts, Digital Art, Visual Culture, and Media.

Deskomvis primarily publishes Original Research Articles. Original research may include empirical research, design research or practice-based research, and case-, corpus-, artefact-, or phenomenon-based research, provided that the manuscript presents a clearly defined research problem, an appropriate method or analytical framework, identifiable findings or outcomes, critical analysis, and an original scholarly contribution.

Deskomvis does not accept stand-alone literature review manuscripts, including Systematic Literature Reviews (SLR), scoping reviews, bibliometric reviews, narrative literature reviews, or other manuscripts whose primary contribution is the synthesis or mapping of previously published literature.

Peer Review

Manuscripts that successfully complete the Initial Editorial Assessment proceed to a double-blind peer-review process conducted by at least two independent qualified reviewers.

Reviewer recommendations are advisory. Following peer review and revision, the handling editor evaluates the revised manuscript and provides an editorial recommendation. The final editorial decision remains the responsibility of the Editor-in-Chief.

For the regular editorial pathway, the process from initial submission to online publication generally requires approximately 3–5 months, although actual duration may vary according to reviewer availability, revision rounds, author response time, manuscript complexity, and production requirements. In some cases, the process may take up to approximately six months.

Manuscripts are processed continuously throughout the year. Editorial screening, peer review, revision, and production proceed as manuscripts move through the journal workflow.

Dear Colleagues,

We invite researchers, academics, designers, and scholars to submit manuscripts to Deskomvis: Jurnal Ilmiah Desain Komunikasi Visual, Seni Rupa dan Media, published by Asosiasi Program Studi Desain Komunikasi Visual Indonesia (Asprodi DKV).

Deskomvis is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal publishing original research in Visual Communication Design, Visual Arts, Digital Art, Visual Culture, and Media, including typography, branding, visual identity, illustration, photography, advertising, film, animation, videography, UI/UX, semiotics, and related areas.

Beginning with Vol. 7 No. 3 (2026), Deskomvis implements revised Author Guidelines, Article Template, peer-review procedures, publication policies, and research-integrity requirements in alignment with Decree of the Director General of Science and Technology No. 374/DST/D.D1/HM.01.01/2026 concerning the Technical Guidelines for Scientific Journal Accreditation.

Manuscripts must be written in English and prepared according to the latest Author Guidelines and official Article Template.
